Self-portrait by Walter (°1949-2014)

Walter was a craftsman and construction worker before suffering from locked-in syndrome. A condition in which he was locked in his own body, he was fully aware, but not able to communicate verbally. Apart from his right hand he was almost completely paralyzed. The artist would give him a piece of plasticine for him to mould during her visits. In this way Walter developed the elements of his self-portrait.
